چکیده

Graphene is intrinsically non-flat and corrugates randomly. Since the corrugating physics of atomically thin graphene is strongly tied to its electronics properties, randomly corrugating morphology of graphene poses a significant challenge to its application in nanoelectronic devices for which precise (digital) control is the key. Recent studies revealed that the morphology of substratesupported graphene is regulated by the graphene–substrate interaction, thus is distinct from the random intrinsic morphology of freestanding graphene. The regulated extrinsic morphology of graphene sheds light on new pathways to fine tune the properties of graphene. To guide further research to explore these fertile opportunities, this paper reviews recent progress on modeling and experimental studies of the extrinsic morphology of graphene under a wide range of external regulation, including two-dimensional and one-dimensional substrate surface features and one-dimensional and zero-dimensional nanoscale scaffolds (e.g. nanowires and nanoparticles). Morphology Change and Structural ‎Evaluation of Carbon Nanostructures

In this study, the change of porosity and roughness of carbon nanostructures, including fullerenes, carbon nanotubes and graphene was investigated according to oxidation process. The effect of oxidation was more sensible on smoother surface of nanostructures. Oxidation increases surface roughness of graphene up to 5.2% and porosity up to 35.2%. While, roughness of hummers graphene is 13....

Effect of ultrasonic waves on morphology and electrical treatment of graphene

It is important to examine the factors that determine the properties of graphene. Various factors affect the properties of graphene nanosheets that can revolutionize the use of graphene. One such factor is ultrasonic waves, which have significant effects on graphene properties. In this research, we studied the effect of ultrasonic waves with different power levels (35, 50, 360, and 420 W) on fo...

Corrugation in exfoliated graphene: an electron microscopy and diffraction study.

Low-energy electron microscopy and microprobe diffraction are used to image and characterize corrugation in SiO(2)-supported and suspended exfoliated graphene at nanometer length scales. Diffraction line-shape analysis reveals quantitative differences in surface roughness on length scales below 20 nm which depend on film thickness and interaction with the substrate. Corrugation decreases with i...
